6 내 이름을 멸시하는 제사장들아 나 만군의 여호와가 너희에게 이르기를 아들은 그 아버지를, 종은 그 주인을 공경하나니 내가 아버지일진대 나를 공경함이 어디 있느냐 내가 주인일진대 나를 두려워함이 어디 있느냐 하나 너희는 이르기를 우리가 어떻게 주의 이름을 멸시하였나이까 하는도다 "A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If I am a father, where is the honor due me? If I am a master, where is the respect due me?" says the LORD Almighty. "It is you, O priests, who show contempt for my name. "But you ask, "How have we shown contempt for your name?"
7 너희가 더러운 떡을 나의 제단에 드리고도 말하기를 우리가 어떻게 주를 더럽게 하였나이까 하는도다 이는 너희가 여호와의 식탁은 경멸히 여길 것이라 말하기 때문이라 "You place defiled food on my altar. "But you ask, "How have we defiled you?" "By saying that the LORD"s table is contemptible.
8 만군의 여호와가 이르노라 너희가 눈 먼 희생제물을 바치는 것이 어찌 악하지 아니하며 저는 것, 병든 것을 드리는 것이 어찌 악하지 아니하냐 이제 그것을 너희 총독에게 드려 보라 그가 너를 기뻐하겠으며 너를 받아 주겠느냐 When you bring blind animals for sacrifice, is that not wrong? When you sacrifice crippled or diseased animals, is that not wrong? Try offering them to your governor! Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you?" says the LORD Almighty.
9 만군의 여호와가 이르노라 너희는 나 하나님께 은혜를 구하면서 우리를 불쌍히 여기소서 하여 보라 너희가 이같이 행하였으니 내가 너희 중 하나인들 받겠느냐 "Now implore God to be gracious to us. With such offerings from your hands, will he accept you?"-says the LORD Almighty.
10 만군의 여호와가 이르노라 너희가 내 제단 위에 헛되이 불사르지 못하게 하기 위하여 너희 중에 성전 문을 닫을 자가 있었으면 좋겠도다 내가 너희를 기뻐하지 아니하며 너희가 손으로 드리는 것을 받지도 아니하리라 "Oh, that one of you would shut the temple doors, so that you would not light useless fires on my altar! I am not pleased with you," says the LORD Almighty, "and I will accept no offering from your hands.
11 만군의 여호와가 이르노라 해 뜨는 곳에서부터 해 지는 곳까지의 이방 민족 중에서 내 이름이 크게 될 것이라 각처에서 내 이름을 위하여 분향하며 깨끗한 제물을 드리리니 이는 내 이름이 이방 민족 중에서 크게 될 것임이니라 My name will be great among the nations, from the rising to the setting of the sun. In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to my name, because my name will be great among the nations," says the LORD Almighty.
12 그러나 너희는 말하기를 여호와의 식탁은 더러워졌고 그 위에 있는 과일 곧 먹을 것은 경멸히 여길 것이라 하여 내 이름을 더럽히는도다 "But you profane it by saying of the Lord"s table, "It is defiled," and of its food, "It is contemptible."
13 만군의 여호와가 이르노라 너희가 또 말하기를 이 일이 얼마나 번거로운고 하며 코웃음치고 훔친 물건과 저는 것, 병든 것을 가져왔느니라 너희가 이같이 봉헌물을 가져오니 내가 그것을 너희 손에서 받겠느냐 이는 여호와의 말이니라 And you say, "What a burden!" and you sniff at it contemptuously," says the LORD Almighty. "When you bring injured, crippled or diseased animals and offer them as sacrifices, should I accept them from your hands?" says the LORD.
14 짐승 떼 가운데에 수컷이 있거늘 그 서원하는 일에 흠 있는 것으로 속여 내게 드리는 자는 저주를 받으리니 나는 큰 임금이요 내 이름은 이방 민족 중에서 두려워하는 것이 됨이니라 만군의 여호와의 말이니라 "Cursed is the cheat who has an acceptable male in his flock and vows to give it, but then sacrifices a blemished animal to the Lord. For I am a great king," says the LORD Almighty, "and my name is to be feared among the nations.
■ 연구와 묵상 하나님께 흠 있는 제물을 바치는 것이 왜 죄악이며, 마땅하지 않습니까?(6, 8절)
■ 느낀 점 하나님이 그분을 멸시하는 자들의 예배를 받지 않으시고 기뻐하지 않으시며(8~10절), 오히려 저주하심(14절)을 볼 때 무엇을 느낍니까?
■ 결단과 적용 하나님은 제물 자체보다 제물에 담긴 우리의 마음과 그분을 향한 사랑에 관심이 있으시다는 사실을 압니까? 혹시 나는 하나님이 돈을 좋아하시는 분이라고 오해하고 있진 않습니까? 나는 하나님께 가장 좋은 것을 드리려 합니까, 쓰고 남은 자투리를 드리려 합니까? 하나님께 예배드리는 태도에서 고쳐야 할 점이 있다면 무엇입니까?
