1 사람이 땅 위에 번성하기 시작할 때에 그들에게서 딸들이 나니
When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them,

2 하나님의 아들들이 사람의 딸들의 아름다움을 보고 자기들이 좋아하는 모든 여자를 아내로 삼는지라
the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose.

3 여호와께서 이르시되 나의 영이 영원히 사람과 함께 하지 아니하리니 이는 그들이 육신이 됨이라 그러나 그들의 날은 백이십 년이 되리라 하시니라
Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years."

4 당시에 땅에는 네피림이 있었고 그 후에도 하나님의 아들들이 사람의 딸들에게로 들어와 자식을 낳았으니 그들은 용사라 고대에 명성이 있는 사람들이었더라
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days-and also afterward-when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

5 여호와께서 사람의 죄악이 세상에 가득함과 그의 마음으로 생각하는 모든 계획이 항상 악할 뿐임을 보시고
The LORD saw how great man"s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.

6 땅 위에 사람 지으셨음을 한탄하사 마음에 근심하시고
The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain.

7 이르시되 내가 창조한 사람을 내가 지면에서 쓸어버리되 사람으로부터 가축과 기는 것과 공중의 새까지 그리하리니 이는 내가 그것들을 지었음을 한탄함이니라 하시니라
So the LORD said, "I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth-men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air-for I am grieved that I have made them."

8 그러나 노아는 여호와께 은혜를 입었더라
But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.

9 이것이 노아의 족보니라 노아는 의인이요 당대에 완전한 자라 그는 하나님과 동행하였으며
This is the account of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God.

10 세 아들을 낳았으니 셈과 함과 야벳이라
Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth.

11 그 때에 온 땅이 하나님 앞에 부패하여 포악함이 땅에 가득한지라
Now the earth was corrupt in God"s sight and was full of violence.

12 하나님이 보신즉 땅이 부패하였으니 이는 땅에서 모든 혈육 있는 자의 행위가 부패함이었더라
God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways.

하나님은 에덴에서 시작된 죄악이 급기야 온 세상에 가득함을 보시고, 이를 한탄하사 사람을 지면에서 쓸어버리겠다고 선포하십니다. 본문에 나타난 하나님의 마음을 묵상할 때 무엇을 느낍니까?

■ 결단과 적용
노아 시대에 하나님의 아들들이 사람의 딸들의 아름다움을 보고 무분별하게 결혼했다는 말씀(2절) 앞에서 내가 반성해야 할 점은 무엇입니까? “남들도 다 그러더라” 하며 죄악에 동조하지 않고, 노아처럼 구별된 모습으로 살아가며 하나님의 은혜를 입는 자가 되기 위해 나는 오늘 어떤 노력을 하겠습니까?
