10 야곱이 브엘세바에서 떠나 하란으로 향하여 가더니
Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Haran.

11 한 곳에 이르러는 해가 진지라 거기서 유숙하려고 그 곳의 한 돌을 가져다가 베개로 삼고 거기 누워 자더니
When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep.

12 꿈에 본즉 사닥다리가 땅 위에 서 있는데 그 꼭대기가 하늘에 닿았고 또 본즉 하나님의 사자들이 그 위에서 오르락내리락 하고
He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.

13 또 본즉 여호와께서 그 위에 서서 이르시되 나는 여호와니 너의 조부 아브라함의 하나님이요 이삭의 하나님이라 네가 누워 있는 땅을 내가 너와 네 자손에게 주리니
There above it stood the LORD, and he said: "I am the LORD, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying.

14 네 자손이 땅의 티끌 같이 되어 네가 서쪽과 동쪽과 북쪽과 남쪽으로 퍼져나갈지며 땅의 모든 족속이 너와 네 자손으로 말미암아 복을 받으리라
Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring.

15 내가 너와 함께 있어 네가 어디로 가든지 너를 지키며 너를 이끌어 이 땅으로 돌아오게 할지라 내가 네게 허락한 것을 다 이루기까지 너를 떠나지 아니하리라 하신지라
I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you."

16 야곱이 잠이 깨어 이르되 여호와께서 과연 여기 계시거늘 내가 알지 못하였도다
When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, "Surely the LORD is in this place, and I was not aware of it."

17 이에 두려워하여 이르되 두렵도다 이 곳이여 이것은 다름 아닌 하나님의 집이요 이는 하늘의 문이로다 하고
He was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven."

18 야곱이 아침에 일찍이 일어나 베개로 삼았던 돌을 가져다가 기둥으로 세우고 그 위에 기름을 붓고
Early the next morning Jacob took the stone he had placed under his head and set it up as a pillar and poured oil on top of it.

19 그 곳 이름을 벧엘이라 하였더라 이 성의 옛 이름은 루스더라
He called that place Bethel, though the city used to be called Luz.

20 야곱이 서원하여 이르되 하나님이 나와 함께 계셔서 내가 가는 이 길에서 나를 지키시고 먹을 떡과 입을 옷을 주시어
Then Jacob made a vow, saying, "If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear

21 내가 평안히 아버지 집으로 돌아가게 하시오면 여호와께서 나의 하나님이 되실 것이요
so that I return safely to my father"s house, then the LORD will be my God

22 내가 기둥으로 세운 이 돌이 하나님의 집이 될 것이요 하나님께서 내게 주신 모든 것에서 십분의 일을 내가 반드시 하나님께 드리겠나이다 하였더라
and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God"s house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth."

형 에서의 위협을 피해 하란으로 향하던 야곱에게 하나님이 들려주신 말씀은 무엇입니까?(12~14절)

고향을 떠난 야곱에게 하나님이 주신 약속의 말씀은 무엇이며(15절), 야곱이 하나님께 서원한 것은 무엇입니까?(20~22절)

■ 연구와 묵상
아버지로부터 축복 기도를 받은(3~4절) 야곱에게 하나님이 직접 나타나 축복을 약속하신 이유는 무엇이겠습니까?

■ 느낀 점
“여호와께서 과연 여기 계시거늘 내가 알지 못하였도다”(16절)라는 야곱의 고백을 들으며 무엇을 느낍니까?

■ 결단과 적용
하나님을 깊이 만남으로 평범한 곳 “루스”가 “벧엘”(하나님의 집)로 바뀝니다(17~19절). 나의 영적 벧엘은 어디입니까? 나와 연관된 모든 곳이 “하나님의 집”이 되도록 어떻게 노력하겠습니까?
