10 네 손이 일을 얻는 대로 힘을 다하여 할지어다 네가 장차 들어갈 스올에는 일도 없고 계획도 없고 지식도 없고 지혜도 없음이니라
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.

11 내가 다시 해 아래에서 보니 빠른 경주자들이라고 선착하는 것이 아니며 용사들이라고 전쟁에 승리하는 것이 아니며 지혜자들이라고 음식물을 얻는 것도 아니며 명철자들이라고 재물을 얻는 것도 아니며 지식인들이라고 은총을 입는 것이 아니니 이는 시기와 기회는 그들 모두에게 임함이니라
I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all.

12 분명히 사람은 자기의 시기도 알지 못하나니 물고기들이 재난의 그물에 걸리고 새들이 올무에 걸림 같이 인생들도 재앙의 날이 그들에게 홀연히 임하면 거기에 걸리느니라
Moreover, no man knows when his hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so men are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them.
