1 보라 주 만군의 여호와께서 예루살렘과 유다가 의뢰하며 의지하는 것을 제하여 버리시되 곧 그가 의지하는 모든 양식과 그가 의지하는 모든 물과
See now, the Lord, the LORD Almighty, is about to take from Jerusalem and Judah both supply and support: all supplies of food and all supplies of water,

2 용사와 전사와 재판관과 선지자와 복술자와 장로와
the hero and warrior, the judge and prophet, the soothsayer and elder,

3 오십부장과 귀인과 모사와 정교한 장인과 능란한 요술자를 그리하실 것이며
the captain of fifty and man of rank, the counselor, skilled craftsman and clever enchanter.

4 그가 또 소년들을 그들의 고관으로 삼으시며 아이들이 그들을 다스리게 하시리니
I will make boys their officials; mere children will govern them.

5 백성이 서로 학대하며 각기 이웃을 잔해하며 아이가 노인에게, 비천한 자가 존귀한 자에게 교만할 것이며
People will oppress each other-man against man, neighbor against neighbor. The young will rise up against the old, the base against the honorable.

6 혹시 사람이 자기 아버지 집에서 자기의 형제를 붙잡고 말하기를 네게는 겉옷이 있으니 너는 우리의 통치자가 되어 이 폐허를 네 손아래에 두라 할 것이면
A man will seize one of his brothers at his father"s home, and say, "You have a cloak, you be our leader; take charge of this heap of ruins!"

7 그 날에 그가 소리를 높여 이르기를 나는 고치는 자가 되지 아니하겠노라 내 집에는 양식도 없고 의복도 없으니 너희는 나를 백성의 통치자로 삼지 말라 하리라
But in that day he will cry out, "I have no remedy. I have no food or clothing in my house; do not make me the leader of the people."

8 예루살렘이 멸망하였고 유다가 엎드러졌음은 그들의 언어와 행위가 여호와를 거역하여 그의 영광의 눈을 범하였음이라
Jerusalem staggers, Judah is falling; their words and deeds are against the LORD, defying his glorious presence.

9 그들의 안색이 불리하게 증거하며 그들의 죄를 말해 주고 숨기지 못함이 소돔과 같으니 그들의 영혼에 화가 있을진저 그들이 재앙을 자취하였도다
The look on their faces testifies against them; they parade their sin like Sodom; they do not hide it. Woe to them! They have brought disaster upon themselves.

10 너희는 의인에게 복이 있으리라 말하라 그들은 그들의 행위의 열매를 먹을 것임이요
Tell the righteous it will be well with them, for they will enjoy the fruit of their deeds.

11 악인에게는 화가 있으리니 이는 그의 손으로 행한 대로 그가 보응을 받을 것임이니라
Woe to the wicked! Disaster is upon them! They will be paid back for what their hands have done.

12 내 백성을 학대하는 자는 아이요 다스리는 자는 여자들이라 내 백성이여 네 인도자들이 너를 유혹하여 네가 다닐 길을 어지럽히느니라
Youths oppress my people, women rule over them. O my people, your guides lead you astray; they turn you from the path.
